Datacamp Review 2021
A data scientist's career is one of the fastest growing in the world. The reason could be that people are drawn to the high-paying six-figure jobs, or that they have a talent for data analysis and enjoy working with big data.
DataCamp is the best resource for data science reference material. It is the first online learning platform dedicated to teaching data science to professionals seeking knowledge and understanding of the subject. DataCamp is a MOOC platform that was founded in 2014. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) is an abbreviation for the company's speciality in providing online courses to students all over the world.
In this Datacamp review, I will discuss how simple it is to use DataCamp, as well as the quality of courses available. I'll then go over some of the features you'll find with DataCamp and how you can get started exploring it for free before wrapping up the review with pricing and whether or not it's worth paying for DataCamp.
Ease of Use
When you first arrive at the DataCamp main page, you will notice that DataCamp is set up to help you learn, practise, and participate in projects. Once you've decided on a course, DataCamp will create a dashboard for you, with the instruction box on half of the screen and the coding box on the other. The instructions teach you about a language's syntax before presenting you with some sample code and an exercise. This is where you can practise coding. You enter code into the coding box, run it, and test the results before submitting it. If you get it right, you get XP points; otherwise, you are told that you did not code it correctly.
The great thing about DataCamp is that the instructions are both text-based and video-based. In my opinion, this is quite refreshing because it is similar to going to school. There is reading material as well as video-based instructor-led instruction.
Another fantastic feature of DataCamp is that it will quiz you along the way. Instead of a coding exercise, it will present you with a multiple-choice question and require you to select the correct answer and submit it.
Course Quality
DataCamp currently has 314 courses, with the number steadily increasing. In terms of quality, I would give each course a 9.0 out of 10.0. I rarely give out 10.0 ratings because I always leave room for improvement, and I believe the quality of DataCamp is good to excellent but not perfect. I believe DataCamp's instructors can add a bit of real-world experience to each course and give us a sense of some of the problems we will face in the real world. We need to see real-world problems that arise in today's environments and how to apply our new skills to solve them.
DataCamp Pricing
DataCamp is available to individuals as well as businesses. You have three plans to choose from as an individual. Individuals can sign up for free at any level, starting with the lowest. This is an excellent way to get started and put the platform through its paces. You will have access to all courses, but only one chapter per course. This may not seem like much, but it will allow you to assess the quality of training available and whether DataCamp is a good fit for you.
The basic plan, which is the next level, costs $25 per month and gives you access to forty-four courses. The premium level costs $29 per month and gives you access to over 314 courses. Instead of seven projects, you now have eighty-one to work on. This is significantly more expensive than the basic level, but it is well worth it.
There are two business plans: Professional and Enterprise. The Professional plan costs $300 per year per user, while the Enterprise plan costs $499 per year per user. Both plans include access to all core courses as well as first dibs on new courses.
Are DataCamp Courses Good?
Everyone agrees that DataCamp is excellent at teaching a specific skill but not so good at instilling the critical thinking required to solve complex problems or providing the confidence to work as a data scientist when faced with unexpected challenges. Nonetheless, DataCamp's approach to simplifying concreteness and interactivity is unique.
Is DataCamp Worth it?
You will learn the skills required to become a successful data scientist with DataCamp training, but will DataCamp help you land a job? Once you've finished your DataCamp training, the real question is whether the Statement of Accomplishment, a certificate issued by DataCamp to indicate that you've completed data science training, is worth anything in the real world.
Unfortunately, most employers believe this certificate says nothing about your skill or ability. It simply indicates that you took the initiative to improve yourself academically, but it does not certify you as an expert data scientist.
No, DataCamp is not worth it if you are looking for certification. However, if you're looking for data science training or preparation for a career in data science, DataCamp is your best bet.
