Is Grammarly Premium Worth It

Grammarly is a popular app among professional writers, bloggers, and those who need to produce error-free writings at work. Because the basic version is free, you may wonder whether paying for Grammarly Premium, an updated paid version, is worthwhile. Is Grammarly a good investment in general? What's the difference between Grammarly Premium and Grammarly Free? To learn more, read our honest Grammarly review.

WHAT IS GRAMMARLY AND WHAT DOES IT DO

Grammarly is a free online grammar and spelling checker. Three key points are conveyed in this brief description.

One, it checks for spelling issues, two, it checks your grammar and text consistency, and three, you must have an internet connection to use Grammarly.

If you frequently write messages and struggle with correct spelling, you might want to think about it.

It corrects typos that you create by accident or due to a lack of information. In our case, it usually stems from the fact that we know the word, we use it in spoken form, but we've never seen it written down, so we're not sure how to spell it correctly.

Here, we'd like to walk you through how we use the grammar checker tool step by step.

SPELLING

The fact that Grammarly saves us time is the most significant benefit we observe. It would have been difficult for us to examine every word because we write between 2000 and 4000 words per day.

We believe that this feature will be appreciated by native speakers as well, because we don't know many people who can write without errors, and looking over the entire text might be tedious.

We're not advocating blindly trusting Grammarly and not proofreading your work at all.

It's still required because the app makes mistakes as well - little ones, but blunders nonetheless.

When you make a mistake, the app highlights the word in red.

Grammarly's spelling algorithm is extremely precise.
When you click on a term, it tells you that it doesn't exist in the dictionary and suggests alternatives. You can either click on the suggested replacement to have it instantly replace your original term in the text, or you can type it in manually.

If the word you typed does exist, you can either dismiss the recommendation or add it to the dictionary.

We don't do this very often; it's just when we're writing about a certain destination and the original name isn't in English and we want to maintain the original version in the text.

GRAMMAR

Grammarly's grammar checker is another feature we particularly like.

When capital letters are misspelt, punctuation or articles are missing, the utilised preposition is incorrect, or the verb does not correspond with the subject, the app highlights the words.

Of course, Grammarly tests for a lot more things, but when you compose a document, you'll quickly notice that these are the most typical mistakes a writer might make.

We like that the suggestion also explains why the app feels we should follow its advice (the words are emphasised in red again).

All red warnings have the same purpose in mind: to help you improve your spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

The free version of Grammarly may be sufficient for you if you merely write for fun or send brief emails and want to ensure that they are error-free.

It is important to note that the free version will perform all spelling and grammatical checks for you, but some of the more sophisticated grammar suggestions will not be explained.

You'll see in the warnings that you committed an error, such as in punctuation, but you'll have to look it up yourself or leave it alone.

CONCISENESS

Now we're coming to the parts of Grammarly Premium where we think it's well worth the money. Again, Grammarly will verify your writing, but the free version will not reveal all of the errors.

On the right side, there will be a sidebar that will inform you that the text is, for example, difficult to read, but it will not show you where.

Grammarly is a wonderful software if you like your texts to be brief and to the point.

When the phrase is too long, you use too many non-content words, you overuse passive voice (it's often better to use active voice), or the text is difficult to understand, the checker tool underlines all the words that appear to be unneeded in blue colour.

This app's grammarly conciseness is a nice advantage.
When it comes to brevity, we sometimes follow Grammarly's advise and other times we don't.

The programme dislikes terms with no further meaning, such as really, simply, just, and so on.

We understand that the language would be lot clearer and to the point without these words, but we feel they belong there from time to time simply because we don't want to seem like robots.

Because our native language is Czech, I appreciate Grammarly's warnings when my word order is incorrect. I try to concentrate on it, but because every language's word order differs significantly, it's a comfort that I don't have to think about it.

When we were using the free version, I received far too many notifications that my text was difficult to read.

It's primarily my fault, as I'm well aware that my sentences are frequently longer than they need to be. It's just my personality; I don't mind reading big phrases, but I'm aware that it's not user-friendly, and most people like to read short, direct statements.

I can now plainly identify where I made mistakes thanks to Grammarly Premium.

The software highlights any very long sentences, proposes splitting them in two (or more), or suggests ways to improve readability by omitting particular terms or rewriting the message to make it more fluent.

You're probably aware that I'm referring to statements like this.

Yes, it was all highlighted in blue when I was writing it, but I've modified it to Grammarly's, and most importantly, my satisfaction.

VARIETY

Every author wishes for his or her text to be intriguing. We understand that you want to come across as professional, but we also feel that you want to enjoy writing.

You might understand that producing fascinating content every day can be exhausting, given that we designed this blog from the ground up and do not accept guest posts.

The closer we get to Friday, the more difficult it becomes to find the appropriate words and put them into a format that we like.

This is when we appreciate Grammarly's ability to notify us when we use certain terms too frequently and even propose synonyms.

In fact, even if a word is not highlighted, you can click on it and the programme will propose many synonyms for you to consider.

Of course, you must always ensure that the synonym is appropriate for the context of your work.

Because your work is not verified by a human proofreader (although Grammarly does offer this service for a fee), you must rely on your own judgement.

DELIVERY

Grammarly not only checks your grammar, but it also assists you in ensuring that your speech is appropriate for your audience.

It recognises slang words and alerts you to the presence of prepositions at the conclusion of the phrase (apparently, some readers might be allergic to it, but we use it when we feel it is right).

Overall, we appreciate the fact that Grammarly is quite complex in all parts of writing.

It's not just about the grammatical check; it's also about the end result, which should make sense to your audience. Even when writing an email, knowing who your readers are is critical.

Grammarly will assist you in setting the tone of your message so that you appear confident but not domineering, nice but not overly so.

WHO IS GRAMMARLY FOR

Although Grammarly is not the only tool available, it is the only one with which we have personal experience.

Grammarly, as far as we know, is for everyone who wishes to improve their writing skills and express themselves more clearly, directly, and pleasantly.

The programme is handy even if you don't make a living as a writer. Because of the nature of your job, using a grammar checker may be required, but it can also be purely recreational.

GRAMMARLY SETTINGS

Grammarly is an English editor, but it's great because you can select whether you want to write in American, British, Canadian, or Australian English.

Once you've completed the setup, the programme will recognise even minor differences in spelling.

Do not forget to set your goals if you want to receive the greatest outcomes, other from checking for typos.

One of the first things you should do when you begin using Grammarly is to set goals.
You can use this function to adapt your writing to a specific audience.

Who is your intended audience, how do you wish to sound, is the text official or informal, and what is your story's intent?

All of this can be set up to provide more accurate outcomes.

HOW TO USE GRAMMARLY

What is the best way to use Grammarly? It's a piece of cake.

We've gotten into the habit of writing in the Grammarly editor right quickly. Some people dislike it because it displays you your faults in real time, but we actually like it because it allows us to make improvements on the fly.

If you don't want to write in the Grammarly app (which is secure), or if you don't have access to the internet when you want to write, you can type your content in Word or any other text document, then either copy it into Grammarly or upload it.

This way, you'll only utilise Grammarly to add the finishing touches at once.

Grammarly is also compatible with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Mac programmes, so you can use it with your favourite text editors.

One of the most popular features is the Chrome Extension, which allows users to download it for free and have their email or any text they write in Chrome reviewed for grammar and mistakes.

Last but not least, the Grammarly keyboard may be downloaded to your phone.

THINGS TO KNOW

You might wonder how safe Grammarly is. That is an excellent question. If you use the Chrome Extension or the keyboard app, Grammarly will know a lot of what you're typing. This works in the same way as any other extension or programme.

Stick with the desktop version if you're not confident about the security.

We believe it is important to stress that Grammarly will not be able to take the position of a skilled human editor.

You can't trust it completely, but it's unquestionably less expensive than hiring a human proofreader to go over all of your documents, and the results are pretty decent.

Grammarly helps you avoid foolish mistakes and typos regardless of the version you use.

You must, however, pay attention to what you write. We usually double-check the text before posting, and even then, we notice a few little errors.

If the text is excessively long, we recommend copying it twice or three times in the app to capture all errors.

The grammatical check may be hampered by a sluggish internet connection, but this is not due to Grammarly's negligence.

Because it is an online checker, it requires a steady internet connection.

To be honest, we rely on Grammarly so much that we can't fathom our working day without it.

However, we recognise that it is merely an app, and we must always double-check everything.

As an illustration, consider the following. Grammarly is great at detecting when a word doesn't belong in a sentence, but it doesn't always catch you when you type fatigued instead of fired.

FREE GRAMMARLY VS GRAMMARLY PREMIUM

So, what's the difference between Grammarly's free edition and the Grammarly Premium version? Grammarly will provide decent, but limited service to its consumers, much like any other free version of any product in the world.

Grammarly is a free tool that checks for typos, misspellings, and conciseness.

Although the assistant shows you that you are awake, you must often find out how to update the wording on your own.

Of course, you can ignore it, but I was hell-bent on achieving the highest possible grade (or reading score) for our texts. The readability score also indicates how well your material is understood, as well as word count statistics.

Grammarly Premium is more difficult to use. It's ideal for folks who write lengthier pieces because it improves readability and fluidity while also assisting with text uniformity.

The enhanced edition includes tips for improving vocabulary, genre-specific writing style tests, and a plagiarism detector that examines over 16 billion pages.

IS GRAMMARLY PREMIUM WORTH IT?

What is the end result? Is Grammarly Premium a good investment?

We were hesitant to spend more money on apps than was absolutely necessary when we first launched our company.

But, because we didn't want to outsource any support, we had to make some changes as our blog grew.

One of them was going to buy the newer version.

We understood that if we wanted to keep delivering content to our viewers and keep them coming back to our site, we needed to enhance our writing skills.

That was my initial motivation for acquiring Grammarly Premium.

We ran a few tests and went through many of our older texts in the app, and we both decided right away that this is the product we want to invest in.

If you write on a regular basis and need to give a relevant result, we highly recommend that you try Grammarly Premium.

Of course, you should first try the free programme to see whether it meets your needs, and then upgrade to the paid version if you are a more demanding customer.

There will be one less issue for you to be concerned about.
